The Newman camshaft is one of the best camshafts available for the R53 Cooper S, increasing both bhp and torque throughout the rev range by allowing the valves to stay open longer, thus increasing the amount of air/fuel entering the cylinders.

To fully realize the potential of the Newman camshaft, we recommend that the car be remapped after installation. Gains of around 18bhp on average can be expected from fitting a Newman camshaft, depending on the option chosen and other modifications on the car. There are lots of variables
